Awards & Honours IBP, Tata Steel, DRL bag corporate governance award Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Jan. 01 THE Institute of Company Secretaries of India's (ICSI) second edition of the National Awards for excellence in Corporate Governance has been conferred on three companies two in the private sector and one in the public sector. While the Tata Steel Ltd (Chairman Mr Ratan Tata) and Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited (Chairman Dr K Anji Reddy) have been adjudged the best governed companies in the private sector, IBP Co Ltd (Chairman Mr M.S. Ramachandran) bagged the award for the best-governed company in the public sector. The Vice-President of India, Mr Bhairon Singh Shekawat, presented the awards to the representatives of these three companies at a function held in the Capital here. The ICSI Life Time Achievement Award for "Translating excellence in corporate governance into reality" has been conferred on Dr Y.K. Hamied, Chairman, Cipla Ltd.
